Most organisms are not perfect in their environment and if they were why would evolution exist? The flies ancestors "spread" a beneficial mutation through natural selection. While longer antennae might also have thrived through natural selection, the mutation never occured, but may still in time to come.

This portable Gen 2 RFID reader/writer, model 216011, operates in a frequency range from 860MHz to 960MHz and can be used worldwide.
