Harman Kardon 1999, BMW 328I sound system (Harman Kardon)?
Hey,
I have 1999 328I. Its sound distribution is awsome, but base is not what I want (for most of the songs except remixes). I have two questions,
1) How do I find out if it has Harman Kardon sound system (its not visible anywhere)
2) Is there any way to increase the base for normal songs too (Its already maxed out at the sterio). I know I can add a heavy amp and subwoofer, infact I have it, but i do not want to destroy the sound distribution as well.
3) if I integrate an ipod, and use its equlizers, will it give me what I want?

Most late-model BMW vehicles use an amplifier made by Philips. These are multi-channel amps and have active crossovers for every driver. If you have 10 drivers in the car (bass, mids, tweeters, etc.) then it is a 10-channel amplifer and is probably in the trunk on the driver's side.
Changing the amp is more difficult because you'd have to install passive crossovers in the mids and tweeters.
