How does vacuum tube work?

Hi. The vacuum tube has three internal components, but look at two of them first, the emitter and the collector. If the emitter (called a cathode in a tube) is hot enough, electrons boil off it's surface and are collected on the collector plate. Electrons only move from the cathode (think of a hot wire) to the collector (think of a cold plate) and not the other way around. In this configuration the tube acts like a diode. If you add a grid (think of a screen) between the two and apply a voltage then the grid blocks the flow of electrons. A small VOLTAGE applied to the grid blocks a high CURRENT of electrons. In this way the tube can act as an amplifier. Hope this gets you started!

Penis Pumps have been much maligned in their efforts to enlarge the penis. What separates the fact from fiction with penis pumps? Penile pumps are a small tube with a vacuum device.
