how can i record sound in my computer from an external source, say input from an analog tape recorder/ guitar?
i want to record the output of my tape recorder into my pc. i tried to directly plug the out of the tape into the 'IN' of my on-board soung card, but all i got was only sound from my speakers! I couldn't record it! HOw can I record it? Pl help.
Thanks for the answers! Some bright spark has even suggested to buy a mic!!! What i am asking is the input is from a tape recorder and the input should be into the 'IN' of the sound card.(not by mic, for the quality of sound deteriorates).
double click you volume icon in the taskbar to open the volume control.
under options select properties
choose to adjust volume for recording click ok
make sure there is a check in the select box under microphone.
that should put the recording focus on the mic or line in allowing you to record from your tape
