Country July My fiance's visa expires in July, if we get married in May could she be forced to leave the country?
I am a U.S. citizen and she is from malaysia. She has been here a year and a half and is now working from her OPT which expires in mid July. We are planning to have our wedding in april or may. Would she be forced to leave if our paperwork isn't filed by july? I'm really worried cause I don't won't to lose her.
No, since you are a US citizen your fiancee will not have to leave the US if you haven't completed filing for her adjustment of status by the time her I-94 expires. You should file as soon as possible, but unless she has some other problem that now makes her ineligible for adjustment, she will be able to stay throughout the process.
