I always hit pop-ups. How can i improve my batting mechanics to give me consistent line drives?
When i go to the batting cages, im always hitting pop-ups. I need good tips to be able to hit line drives more consistently.
Most likely when you are swinging you are dipping the back half of your body, mostly likely your shoulder and/or elbow. This can come from several factors, including just being anxious to hit. Keep your elbow up around shoulder height and as you are swinging, go straight from that position and swing straight through the ball coming across the plate. For line drives you want to make sure you are hitting the ball pretty square in the middle. Don't hit the bottom or top 1/3 of the baseball.
