Black Subwoofer subwoofer to box or enclosure help?
Should the wire that connects from the inside of the box to the actual subwoofer look the same on both sides. Or should one side fit over the metal tongs in the box and the other side have a black and red wire that is stripped? Mine has the little brackets that go over the tongs and i dont see how this could work. Thanks.
soldering would be very useful for your situation. and don't forget the flux if you choose to solder the connections inside your box. anyway...that is what i did with my 10" pioneer sub woofer in a q-logic box. i soldered a pair of wires inside the box to the "tongs" or quick connect terminals on the back of the speaker wire posts. then the sub itself should have banana terminals for the speaker wire that you can either press down or unscrew. then feed the raw or stripped wire through the banana terminals and tighten them down and depress them. OR you can goto radio shack and ask for some "crimp quick connect terminals" should need 4 of them if your sub is a single voice coil "SVC" or 6 of them for dual voice coil "DVC" and then get some pliers of any kind. You probably already have these. Then strip the wire carefully with a knife or something and then after that use the pliers to crimp down on the terminals your bought and the speaker wire then you will have finished your project.
