Ever try to figure out just how to get dust and cobwebs out of the corners of your living room? Your broom can only do so much, and most of the time the handle won't quite reach to dislodge that last sticky bit. How frustrating is that? What you need to get the job done is a cobweb duster.
Extend your reach with the right tool for the job and you'll be sweeping those annoying corners clean! The same duster can help you get rid of the grime that collects on vertical surfaces, restoring the shine to walls and ceilings.
Again, it doesn't take an expert with really long arms. It takes the right tool for the job, so choose one that will last.
Look for one with a long handle, made of something sturdy but light. There are models out there made of steel, capable of doing the job efficiently and cost-effectively. You'll need a large brush, preferably one that's attached to a frame that swivels easily. Most dusters of this nature can be used on all sorts of surfaces, from painted walls to those with paneling or texture,.
Don't forget to turn off your ceiling fan before you tango with those blades! Sashay with your brush along the ceiling in style. Use your wrist to tackle those fancy curves in molding. Close your drapes and give them a good brushing down too.
Make sure you regularly shake out your brush to dislodge your captured dust balls. This will definitely improve your results, in addition to giving you a chance to exercise your arms in the other direction.
Once you've conquered those corners with your cobweb duster and muster up the energy to uncover the shine on those walls and ceilings. Once you've begun down the road to cleaning them up, it's worth it to invest a little more effort in the final lap, so to speak.
For this job, you'll want to find a product that can remove any grease, grime, and dust that has accumulated on those same surfaces.
Always work from top to bottom when washing your walls, and don't worry about going over the edge of a spot twice. It's easier to overlap a bit the first time round to prevent missing one of those hard-to-reach sections. Don't spread yourself too thin. Keep those sections on the small side. Be careful to catch any drips before they slide too far. It can be tough to remove such streaks if left to dry.
As with other household tools, there's a lot to be said for taking the time give it a rinse with warm water and a dab of liquid soap. Leave it squeaky clean at the end of the day. Hang the duster up and let the brush air dry. This will ensure you get the most out of your purchase. You'll be happy to find your cobweb duster ready for action the next time you're in the mood to perform a sure-fire clean sweep.
