Rear surround speakers are very quiet...?
I have a cheap sony surround system that's a few years old.
The center, right, and left speakers work very well. I'm having a problem with the 2 rear speakers. If you put your ear up to them, you can hear sound coming out... but it's suuuper quiet.
I'm playing DVDs on my xbox 360, and it is set to 5.1 surround mode.
Any help?
Apart from individual channel volume, you must know one thing:
They are rear speakers, meant for surround.
The only way to test would be using original 5.1CH supported DVD and playing it at high output. Usually the starting portion of movies that are Dolby decoded will play the Digital Dolby Stereo intro, where all speakers are really being tested.
Or if you want, you can always plug the rear speakers to the front channels and see if the output sound are identically as loud as when you connect the front speakers to the front channels connections.
For some system, like my Panasonic HT, they have an EQ mode called 'Party' to put all speakers to mono. Imagine all the while hearing nothing from the rear speakers except glass shattering effects, I was then able to know the rear speakers can really blast out loud too.
