You found your guy. I will have nothing whatever to do with so-called "solid-state" audio gear. All my equipment is proudly analog, and it will stay that way. Digital sound reproduction is an anathema to me; it does music no good to chop it up into little digital pieces. My lovingly maintained Fisher and Scott tube gear has a warm, rich sound that I have never heard from any transistorized stuff. I even like the high-end tube consoles. My friends think I'm crazy, and I don't care. It is so much nicer to put on some good vinyl and listen to REAL high-fidelity reproduction than to slam a CD into some Chinese-made piece of garbage and put up with the lifeless, phoney sound that results. Give me a good amp with 6550's or EL-84's in the final and I'm in heaven.
