Component System is home theater component system better than stereo component system.?
i plan to replace my 15 years old aiwa stereo component.new models of stereo component has dvd player too.
If you look at the two different setups for 'same amount of money', you'll find that stereo systems are much better.
Imagine it this way- for a given amount you are paying only for two channels of audio and so the quality is usually better. If the same amount was to be distributed in 6 channels and also video, the qualty of each individual part will be not so good... and this is what usually happens !
I suggest that you keep your music and video seperate and buy good quality stereo components (if you like audio more). Go to a store nearby and check out the offers from Cyrus, Rotel, Marantz etc.. and buy the one that sounds the best to you. With some more money at hand you can check out Linn which sounds really great.
Buy a good player and then pre-amp/amp and speakers and invest around 10% of your money for interconnects and speaker cables too.
