Loud POP through the speakers after stereo install?
I just installed a JVC unit into my 2000 Mustang GT with the factory Mach 460 audio system. I removed the CD player as well. But now, when I turn the car on with the faceplate installed, there is a loud POP that comes through the speakers. If I install the faceplate after the car is started, it will still POP. Does anyone have a suggestion?!?!
I used a wiring harness that was for this application and all connections are tight and secure.
You might want to try a line level out put adapter to bring the Highlevel out puts of the headunit down to a level that the mach audio amps can handle. If this doesnt work try reconnecting the old headunit to see if the wiriing is the trouble or something bigger is wrong. It could also be that the turn on from the HU to the amps is higher voltage than the ford one and you will have to live with it if it is one pop that is the turn on turning on your amps.

It's often argued that using name brand, or high quality speaker wires can bring out the best performance from any high quality speaker system. While there is some merit to the idea of using high quality cables, it seems many companies have taken this idea far beyond it's logical limits and in so doing created a whole new snake oil industry...
