System Ipod How do I get my iPod to play through a cd/dvd system?
I am going to be the DJ at our Relay for Life and I have all my music on my iPod. However the system that I will be using is a cd/dvd player. Can I make this work?
I'm going to assume this is portable "boombox" or simular type device. If so, you'll need to see if there is a AUX input located somewhere on the unit. If there is, then you'll just need to get a stereo audio cable (2.5mm, I think) and plug the one end into the iPhone/iPod and the other in the AUX input on the unit itself. Make sure to adjust the volume on the iPhone too about half way so the audio doesn't distort. Then just use the volume on the unit itself.
If you do not have AUX in on the unit, look to see if it might have Audio in female RCA type inputs (usually Red & White plugs) and that it says audio input. Then you need a cable that has a headphone type plug on one end and the male RCA type plugs on the other.
Both cables can be found at any type of audio/electronics store like a Bestbuy or Radio Shack.
If you have no inputs of any type on the unit, then you'll have to use something else that does.
