Rca Chassis help!!--my tv just went poof!! any repair ideas??
my rca tv --sound works -channel changes --but a vertical line is all that is on the screen--the rest is black---i think it was made in 1994--it,s a 36 inch rca--model #-f35731mb--the chassis # is ctc169js6---serial #--425366129--i,m out of a job right now--please tell me this isn,t an expensive fix!!!--lol--any help or advice is appreciated--thanks guys!! --by the way--there was no indication that anything was wrong with this set--it just kinda went --poof!!
The fact that there is a vertical line ie north south , reveals that several things are working ok including the flyback transformer and the power supply and the vertical section, therefore the solution stands a good chance of being realativly simple like a dry joint on the deflection yoke plug or something very close to it.All it should need is a simple resolder . I have repaired same fault on many sets over the years. Good luck !.
