Theater System
What is the best home theater surround system?
I am getting a new 46" Samsung HDTV and want a home theater system with it. I am looking to spend less than 700 although higher priced recommendations are welcome. I also want one that is WIRELESS because I hate fussing with cables. I will also be getting a PS3 Slim so I don't see the point of a Blu-Ray Player.
Thanks!
The system I recommend is the Onkyo HT-S5200 (receiver 7.1 and a set of 7.1 speakers) for under $500. Wireless speaker are more expensive if you can find them in higher models. I don't like them due to interferance from other equipment you might have. Even at the very high end in audio, you will not find them. You can the Onkyo system at Fry's Electronic's. Hope this will help you out.

Microsoft's next operating system Windows 7 will support Dolby Digital Plus multichannel audio. The format that is used to broadcast audio standard for HDTV services in many countries uses is a Blu-ray discs format. It is also used to drive up Internet content.
Windows Vista Ultimate and Home Premium editions supported Dolby Digital 5.1 the. Windows Vista was the OS of Microsoft to include Dolby Digital technology in Operating Systems.
Ramzi Haidamus, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing, Dolby Laboratories has said that it makes sense that Dolby Digital Plus has been selected as the audio format for delivering high-quality surround sound, as Windows 7 amplifies the entertainment experience on the PC.
Microsoft's Vice President of Windows Product Management, Mike Nash has stated that nowadays PC users are focused on audio quality than the other features. Windows 7 also introduces file sharing enhancements to avoid time taking process to access the files for subsequent use if the system is slow.
To provide enhanced user productivity, Windows 7 introduces file sharing enhancements. This new feature is the great help to IT professionals who can take advantage of this feature to elevate the user productivity in branch offices.
This feature helps the user by providing the transparent caching for shared folders on client users, which help them by reducing the time, if the network is slow, to access files for subsequent times. Protocol enhancement is combined to it to give improved application that removes the non required network operations while opening and saving files. For offline files, Background synchronization capabilities are added that reduces administrative overhead providing elevated end-user experience.
Transparent caching
Earlier, whenever you need to open a file over a slow network, the file was retrieved from the server computer even if you recently gone through the file but with Windows 7 transparent caching you no more face this problem as client computer cache remote files faster.
The server computer is always contacted in Windows 7 to give data integrity and to make sure that the available cached copy is up-to-date. The user can not access the cache if the server computer is unavailable. Group policy can be used by the IT professionals to enable the transparent caching.
Background synchronization for offline files
In Windows 7 the user don't require to select between online and offline modes as the synchronization automatically happens in the background. Earlier, if the user is online than updates are written to the server computer and if the user is offline than the updates are cached on the client computer disk and can be synchronized only when the user is online.
By making this feature far more better, Folder Redirection feature has become more useful. IT professional can enable Folder Redirection and synchronization using Group Policy.
If the user disconnect from the network, the local copies are opened by windows 7 as if the user is connected to the network and whenever the user connects the next time it changes the synchronization. This provides the user with automatic data backup.
