Dome Tweeter How do you take a dent out of the tweeter dome in a speaker without damaging it?
If the speaker is screwed into the box, try unscrewing it, removing it from the box, and seeing if you have access to the area behind the tweeter dome. If you do, just use a q-tip, or something similar to push out the dent.
If the speaker design doesn't give you access to the tweeter, or if the speaker can't be removed from the box, try tape. Scotch tape, gift wrapper tape, any tape that doesn't leave residue (i.e. duct tape). Cut a piece longer than the dent. Gently rub it on the tweeter so you get a good contact. Use a q-tip, or something similar if your fingers are too big to do the rubbing. Don't push so hard that you make the dent worse. Leave enough tape on the sides so that you can grip the tape. Then try pulling tape away from the dent so it pulls the tweeter material with it. Try experimenting with fast pulls, slow pulls, pulling from one side, both sides, etc.
