What antenna's are best to purchase to go with the digital tuner?
I am trying to get ready for this digital conversion and I want to know if anyone knows what antenna should I purchase and what is the average price.
If you current antenna is doing a good job you shouldn't need a new one. You don't need a "digital" antenna. The antenna only receives the signal and it doesn't matter if the modulation is analog or digital. The antenna will receive the signal. Many digital transmitters put out less power which might mean you'll need a bigger antenna, but you can wait and see. In the meantime, most TV stations are already transmitting in digital. Do what you plan to do, buy a converter box or get the new digital TV and see what reception you get. If you still receive the signals you want, you don't need a new antenna.
It's more likely you'll have to change where your antenna points rather than getting a new antenna. With digital, it's all or nothing as far as the signal is concerned. A little tweaking by turning the antenna might be required.
In most cases a "digital" antenna isn't needed. It's just a way for the store you get more of your money.
