What are the differences between a dvd burner & dvd recorder,do they copy pic files or just movie files?

A DVD burner is on your computer - it can burn files onto a DVD (bigger size) AND a CD. For example you want to burn several home movies + music onto a CD (700MB) but CDs are small in size so you would use a DVD instead because it stores more (4.7GB). You would use a DVD burner to burn it onto a DVD - - - AS for a DVD recorder, it is just like casette recorders but since those are starting to die out, DVD recorders are replacing tape recorders... it functions like a tape recorder but it can probably store more. Just pop in a blank DVD and you can just record things onto the DVD. - - So overall, if you want to record TV shows on TV you need a DVD recorder but if you want to record stuff from YOUR COMPUTER, you'll need a DVD burner.
